Remote Mirror lets you see your Mac’s screen on your iPhone or iPad and control it right there. When you pinch to zoom, only the area you’re looking at is sent in high resolution, so even small text stays sharp.
Download the Mac app (Remote Mirror Host)
To use Remote Mirror, install the free Remote Mirror Host on your Mac.
Notarized by Apple. Open the DMG and drag Remote Mirror Host to your Applications folder.
Getting started
Open Remote Mirror Host on your Mac. An iPhone icon appears in the menu bar.
The first time, go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and turn on “Screen & System Audio Recording” for Remote Mirror Host. To control your Mac from your iPhone, also turn on “Accessibility”.
Open Remote Mirror on your iPhone or iPad and choose a Mac on the same Wi‑Fi network.
Enter the 6-digit PIN shown when you click the icon in the menu bar.
No Mac nearby? Try the in-app Demo to get a feel for it.
How to use
Pinch: zoom in and out / Drag with two fingers: move the view
Tap: click / Double-tap quickly: double-click / Touch and hold or two-finger tap: right-click
Drag with one finger: scroll your Mac’s screen
Three-finger swipe: left/right to switch desktops / up for Mission Control / down for App Exposé
Tap a text field and the keyboard opens automatically (works with Japanese, Chinese and Korean input and with dictation)
Moon button: fits your Mac’s screen to this device and dims and hides your Mac’s display. Touch your Mac’s keyboard or mouse to bring it back.
Pricing
Use every feature free for the first 3 days.
After that, choose a monthly plan, a yearly plan or a one-time purchase (Lifetime). Prices are shown in the App Store in your local currency.
The in-app Demo is always free. The Mac app (Remote Mirror Host) is free too.
To cancel a subscription, go to Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad. To restore a purchase (for example on a new device), tap “Restore Purchases” on the plans screen in the app.
The Monthly and Yearly Plans are auto-renewable subscriptions. They renew automatically at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You won’t be charged automatically when the free trial ends. Terms of Use: Apple’s standard License Agreement (EULA).
Using it over cellular
With iCloud, Remote Mirror also connects directly over cellular. Sign in to iCloud with the same Apple Account on your Mac and your iPhone or iPad, and connect once on the same Wi‑Fi network. After that, just open the app to connect over cellular or from a different Wi‑Fi network.
Your screen data never passes through our servers; it travels directly between your Mac and your device and stays encrypted. Depending on the network, a direct connection may not be possible.
Troubleshooting
Can’t find your Mac: make sure Remote Mirror Host is running on your Mac and that both devices are on the same Wi‑Fi network.
The screen doesn’t appear: check the “Screen & System Audio Recording” permission on your Mac, then restart Remote Mirror Host.
Clicks or typing don’t work: check the “Accessibility” permission on your Mac.
